原文
子曰：“富与贵，是人之所欲也；不以其道得之，不处也。贫与贱，是人之所恶也；不以其道得之，不去也。君子去仁，恶乎成名？君子无终食之间违仁，造次必于是，颠沛必于是。”
译文
孔子说：「财富与尊贵，是人人所向往的；但若不是以正当的方式得来，君子便不会安然享受。贫穷与卑贱，是人人所厌恶的；但若不是以正当的方式去摆脱，君子便不会离弃它。君子若抛弃了仁德，又凭什么成就他的名声呢？君子纵使在一顿饭的短暂时间里，也不会背离仁德；仓促匆忙之际如此，颠沛困顿之时亦如此。」
ENGLISH
The Master said: "Wealth and high station are what all men desire; yet if they cannot be obtained by righteous means, a gentleman will not abide in them. Poverty and low station are what all men detest; yet if they cannot be escaped by righteous means, a gentleman will not forsake them by improper ones. If a gentleman abandons benevolence, how can he be worthy of that name? A gentleman does not deviate from benevolence for so much as the space of a single meal; in moments of haste he cleaves to it, in times of hardship and distress he cleaves to it still."
注释
孔子说，每个人都想富贵，但是呢，君子爱财，取之有道。要走正道，不走邪道来获得财富，获得富贵。贫穷、低贱，每个人都讨厌，如果用邪恶的方式摆脱贫困，那么我情愿不摆脱贫困。君子，如果没有仁了，就不是君子了。
若子在任何时候都有仁。吃饭的时候，有仁，应对特殊情况的时候，还是有仁，颠沛流离，居无定所，无论是贫穷还是富贵，都不会违背仁，这样的人才是君子。
总结一句，不管任何情况下永远都走正道，这就是仁。
